Fiat Finds Love On The Open Road With Britz

Motor home rental experts Britz and Fiat, the producers of the award-winning Ducato, the most popular base vehicle for motor homes in Europe, have joined forces to put love on the open road with the new Trailblazer motor home.

Unlike most rental motor homes, which are designed for families, the Fiat Ducato-based Trailblazer is strictly for two people and is aimed at not just couples on a traditional holiday but also couples looking for a weekend break in comfort.

Britz TrailBlazer“By designing the Trailblazer to be specifically for two people it means that it can offer a much higher level of space and comfort, as well as a long list of features because there is no requirement for more than one, big, comfortable double bed,” says Lawrie Malatios, General Manager for Fiat in New Zealand. “With its own toilette and shower, a gourmet kitchen and plenty of space to spread out and relax, the Trailblazer is that country cottage you always wanted to get away to, but it can go anywhere, anytime!”

Fiat has become the base vehicle of choice for motor home builders in around the world because Fiat has designed the Ducato with motor home users in mind. During the development of the Ducato, Fiat built ‘mule’ test vehicles that had the load weight and distribution of a motorhome to test the engine, gearbox, brakes and suspension. Wider than many of its rivals, with a low floor and the mechanicals tucked out of the way, the Ducato allows motor home builders more flexibility to build more spacious, versatile homes on the road. For larger motor homes, the separate chassis versions of the Ducato offer unrivalled design flexibility along with ease of use. On the road, powerful turbo diesel engines designed specifically for this purpose matched to advanced gearboxes produce vehicles that are as easy to drive as they economical.

Britz TrailBlazer“The Britz Trailblazer marks a change in motor home users,” says Mr Malatios. “The idea of a two person motor home started with the so-called grey nomads, retirees on extended touring trips. Now we are seeing more couples who want to experience the pleasure of a motor home holiday, but are taking more traditional holidays and weekend breaks and don’t want to do in a motor home cramped by beds for four or six people. The Trailblazer and its name speaks not just to what its owners are doing on the road but also what Fiat and Britz are doing in the market place!”
